Butterfly

Butterfly
This butterfly began life as the workings of something far more earthbound. Built from salvaged clock and watch components and reclaimed engineering parts, this large butterfly is assembled piece by piece, each part chosen for its shape, its age, and character. Cogs and gear wheels that once counted out the hours now carry the weight of wings, and the screws that tightened now hold it still. Brass, steel, and copper catch the light in warm golds and cool silvers, with the occasional bloom of natural patina that only years of working life can give. Every part was once doing a job somewhere. Now it is a unique piece of artwork.
Stoptick Art
As each sculpture is made individually from salvaged components, no two pieces are ever identical: the parts available at the time shape the final texture, tone, and character of the piece. Your finished sculpture will follow the same silhouette and craftsmanship shown here, but will be its own one-of-a-kind creation, built from its own unique selection of reclaimed parts. This Sculpture is awaiting framing.
